Here we are talking about Sharmila, a 12-year-old girl who secured a bronze medal in Judo in the Khelo India National-Level Competitions held in Jaipur. She participated in the 23 kg, under-14 category of the National Championship which was organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Besides, it was the first time, she traveled outside her own city.
The little girl lives with her mother and two siblings in one room with very less source of income to survive. Her father is a rickshaw driver who no longer stays with them. However, her conditions never broke her instead they only made her strong.
The credit of Sharmila's success indeed goes to her mother who supported her at every step. When the proud mother was asked, she said, “Bohot mushkil zindagi hai humari. Bohot kam kamati hoon, inki padhayi aur khane ke liye mehnat karti hoon. Sharmila ki iss jeet ne meri zindagi mein bohot khushi di hai".
Not just her mom, even we are very proud of this little girl and hope her to get all that she looks forward to in her life! May Sharmila top the scoreboard in her field soon, we are eagerly waiting for the day...
