This Is All You Need To Know About Dera Sacha Sauda

Yesterday, CBI Court in its decision pronounced that Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim is accused of Rape case registered in the year 2002. We all are aware of this news but do you know what Dera Sacha Sauda is? Let's tell you today:

It was started in 1948. A religious teacher named Shahanshah Mastana started it by organizing spiritual programs and satsangs from his cottage. Over time, the number of followers of Dera Sacha has been increased.

After Shah Mastana Maharaj, Shah Satnam Maharaj became the head of the dera. In 1990, he handed his throne to Gurmeet Singh. When Gurmeet was seven years old then the then Dera chief Shah Satnam Singh ji gave him the name of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

In the Sirsa district of Haryana, the ashram of Dera Sacha Sauda has been running for 68 years and its empire stretches from America, Canada and England to Australia and UAE.

Followers of this organization include people of Sikhism, followers of Hindu religion, backward and dalit sections also. This organization has land in many states, which earn money from farming to run the organization and money for social service. Followers of Dera Sacha Sauda welcome people of all religions and sections among themselves.

Experts believe that perhaps this is the reason that many Dalits and backward classes have been influenced by the promise of rise above the rift of the upper-caste, caste and poor-rich people of the dera and have been moving towards the dera.

Dera supporters call it 'true religious asylum'. Supporters of the Dera Sacha Sauda do not have permission to eat meat etc. and drink alcohol. Dera has been very active in the social services like they organize blood donation camps, eye camps, work during floods in the country, or if there is drought, they are in main activities of the camp.
