Romantic Affair with beautiful European Rivers
There is nothing quite as romantic as a European river cruise. This was made apparent to Janos Horvath when he was asked during a cruise to be Master of Ceremonies to an Australian couple who renewed their wedding vows after 60 years of marriage. European Gems cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest is full of romance, but also combines history and culture, culinary delights and fairytale locations.
FAVOURITE TOWNS
Regensburg is a beautifully preserved medieval city with true Bavarian atmosphere! Among the many excellent cafes, my favourite one is a small café gelateria behind the Protestant Church on the Neupfarrplatz (New Parish Square) called Gelini. Its lovely terrace is a great spot to sit with a cappuccino and an ice cream cup as you watch the world go by. In Miltenberg, we visit families in their homes, chatting and experiencing life in Germany today – something one could not do any other way.
SECRET LOCATIONS
In Bamberg, there is an area located just a few blocks south from the City Hall that is on an island in the middle of the Regnitz River. This part of town is not frequented by tourists, but, offers a surprising beauty. The quaintness of the area is like being in renaissance Prague, medieval Rothenburg and baroque Venice, all at the same time.
PATH LESS TRAVELLED
In my free time, I love walking without a map to areas that I’ve never been. This is a great way of finding new places that I’m able to share with my guests. That is how I stumbled upon the location in Bamberg. Since then many of my guests have discovered it and are coming back happy, having seen something special that is not shown in guidebooks.
