Let’s go into the memory lane of Royal Chittorgarh through the majestic creation of Sanjay Leela Bhansalis Padmavat

The much talk of the town Sanjay Leela Bhansali Padmavati, oh sorry now Padmavat is the more than the controversy of Karni Sena. Let me tell you that the this Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his spectacular sets in films, as the director has made a mark for himself in this regard over a period of time. Padmavati trailer is finally out; Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film looks nothing less than grand. The film starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari and Ranveer Singh, is a period drama that is a fictionalized account of Rani Padmavati. The story follows the siege laid upon Chittor Fort in Rajputana, by Alauddin Khilji of the Delhi Sultanate.

Grand Recreation of Chittorgarh Palace

What stands out here in the trailer is the fact that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has recreated the Chittor Fort and its palace in Mumbai sets. The movie faced obstacles as Bhansali and crew faced a backlash by Karni Sena, who eventually vandalized the sets at Jaigarh Fort in Jaipur. By the looks of the trailer, Bhansali did a tremendous job when it came to recreating the Fort, and we are expecting a fabulous outcome. You can travel back in time with the film’s prominent representation of the olden times, along with splendid costumes to go with it. The movie sees Ranveer Singh play the role of Alauddin Khilji, while Deepika Padukone plays the central character of Rani Padmavati.

UNESCO World Heritage

The Chittor Fort is one of the largest forts in India, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in Chittorgarh town, the fort witnessed the torment of Alauddin Khilji as he defeated the then ruler Rana Ratan Singh. Later Akbar too defeated Maharana Udai Singh II, and so the fort is one of the most important historical sites of India. The magnificent fort covers a total area of 700 acres, and is usually associated with Meera Bai, who was the mystic poetess devoted to Lord Kirshna. The Chittor Fort originally had 84 water bodies, but as of today only 22 of them exist. The magnificent fort is open to visitors.
