MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index 2017: Only 6 Indian Cities Included In The List
In terms of travel, six cities of India, including Chennai and Kolkata, have found the place in the list of the top 100 travel destinations in the world. According to MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index 2017, in addition to Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru have been ranked in the list.
Chennai is the first place in India's travel destinations. Apart from this, Chennai has also been included in the top 10 destinations in Asia Pacific.
A Kolkata-based travel house official said that it is a clear indication that travel and tourism in the country are growing rapidly. He said that Durgapuja in Kolkata is the center of attraction for foreign tourists and they stay here for at least 2-3 days.
According to the index, there is no sign of recession in the field of travel and tourism in Asia Pacific. The number of tourists in the area has increased.
MasterCard said in a statement: "Expenditure incurred by foreign tourists living in the top 10 cities of Asia-Pacific destinations overnight is the highest. Travel expenses in 2016 were $ 91.16 billion in 2016. In this case, Asia Pacific has surpassed Europe ($ 74.74 billion) and the United States ($ 55.02 billion)."
