Pushkar Lake

Let me share a very interesting story of Pushkar Lake. According to legend, this water body was created when a lotus flower fell from the Hindu god Brahma’s hand and landed on this spot. There is a chhatri in the center of the lake, which was built in the 18th century. There are 52 bathing ghats built around the lake, whose water is believed to be sacred and have healing powers.

Pushkar Camel Fair

You can enjoy this famous fair in the upcoming months. Actually, this festival held every year in the month of in October or November. Spread over a week, the fair attracts traders from across the state, who converge here with their cows, camels, sheep, and goats. Besides the actual trading, there are plenty of parallel entertaining diversions. These include folk music and dance performances, magic shows, snake charmers, and turban-tying and mustache contests.

AKBAR FORT MUSEUM

Very interestingly this Hindu pilgrim has Akbar Fort Museum.  Actually, during the Mughal period, Ajmer grew in importance as emperor Akbar began an annual pilgrimage to the dargah of Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti. It was converted into a museum in 1908, and now exhibits sculptures, inscriptions, miniature paintings, and arms and armor from various historic sites around Rajasthan. Museum and History lovers must visit this place.
