Amitabh Bachchan Calling.... Government Comes up with a Quirky Move to Stop Open Defecation!
If you always wanted and dreamt of getting a call from any legendary actor, your wish may be fulfilled within next 10 days. Don’t be astonished if you get a call from Amitabh Bachchan asking that are you practicing open defecation?
As per government's new move, 50,000 people would be receiving a recorded message by Amitabh Bachchan enquiring where or not they defecate in open. The number of people who will be getting a call or a message would be decided randomly by odf districts under drinking water and sanitation ministry's pilot plan. The calls will be going to those 91 districts and nearly 1.58 lakh villages which have been provided with ODF Status (open defecation free) to make sure it has been maintained. The call would be sent followed by an intimating SMS, post the initial intro, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan would ask two question – if any of the family members is performing an open defecation and the second- is anyone in the village is still doing this act. You need to press “1” for yes and “2” for no.
An Innovative Initiative Under the Swatch Bharat Abhiyan!
This is an attempt made by the Indian government for those districts that have been claim open defecation free but still don’t imply the same. Though the availability of toilets have increased to 48% under the initiative Swatch Bharat Abhiyan taken by Modi Ji, however this move is for the 36% population that still defecates outside!
