What? Captain Cool saved Kohli from getting dropped of team?
Yes it’s true. Officially declared as Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, became the Captain of Indian team in all formats as Mahendra Singh Dhoni has stepped down as skipper for limited-over. Kohli has come up with some words that prove why MSD is regarded as one of the finest Indian captain.
Kohli in interview with Bcci.tv praised Dhoni for helping him when he was newbie in the team and at the same time, Kohli has clearly stated that, Dhoni saved him plenty of times from getting dropped out of the Indian squad.
He says- For me, Dhoni is always going to be my captain as I have started my career under him now he is handing over the leadership to me. For me, he will always be my captain; he will always be the person who guided me initially, who gave me opportunity, who gave me ample space and ample time to grow as a cricketer, who saved me from getting dropped from the team many a times.
Of course, Kohli has a huge opportunity to prove him and also, a huge responsibility to deal with. When the word Captain comes in mind, Dhoni is the first person to click. Let’s see what Kohli has to offer as a Captain.
