Mumbai College Principal Says Girls Who Dress Up Like Men Don’t Want To Have Kids
Swati Deshpande, Principal of the Government Polytechnic College in Mumbai is asking girls to dress up in 'suitable' clothes by putting forward her own theories about the disorder (PCOD) that affects one in every 5 women in India.
Poly Cystic Ovarian Diseases {PCOD} is caused due to hormonal imbalances and genetics.{said by doctors}
In a remark, she told [Times of India.] “I have heard theories on why girls suffer from PCODs (Poly Cystic Ovarian Diseases) at an early age. When they dress like men, they start thinking or behaving like them. There is a gender role reversal in their head. Due to this, the natural urge to reproduce diminishes right from a young age and therefore they suffer from problems like PCODs.”
Such thoughts usually comes from those people who have orthodox thinking on how women is dressed up, and all these are unnecessary reasons given for eve teasing, molestation and rape cases.
As far as I am concerned I am unconvinced with her bizarre theories on gender roles and their relationship with clothes and reproductive system. She wants all female students of the college to wear salwar-kameez. Most of the students even opposed the idea, that it would be inconvenient to wear a salwar kameez in labs.'
same uniforms
The women of the college currently wear the same uniform that the men do, a white shirt paired with black trousers. Clearly the thoughtless comment put up by college principle does not make sense scientifically or even logically!
