A Light Pillar is the most beautiful and exciting effect of optical science. It occurs in the form of a vertical band of light which appears to extend above or below a light source. The effect is created by the reflection of light from numerous tiny ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere or clouds.
It is generally developed under some specific weather conditions but the source light reflected crystals can be street lights or car headlights or any other source of light, which can give an interesting color or effect to the light pillar
