Tuloni Biya A Festival Celebrated When The First Time A Girl Is In Periods. Quite Weird Right!
We have seen people celebrating different festivals but this not the matter of concern. Tuloni Biya is a different ritual altogether. People celebrate this ritual few days after the girl has her first menstruation and signifies the attainment of womanhood and her coming of age.
While there are many people who are against of this rituals and filed numerous amount of petition on it. There are different theories to celebrate this ritual says the Hindu Tai Ahoms and many other Assamese groups.
Tuloni Biya
A bed made of hay is made available and no one is allowed to move to her room for 4 days. After those 4 days of menses, she bathes and is considered “clean” again. Quite a weird ritual isn't it.
